Haines' presidency
Andy Haines, head of logistics at Tate & Lyle Sugars Europe, has been appointed president of the Freight Transport Association. Haines succeeds John Russell, chairman and MD of Scottish freight transport company John G Russell, who has been president since June 2005. Haines has worked at Tate & Lyle for 27 years and has held his current role since 2001.
Private equity move
Mary Minnick, former marketing chief at Coca-Cola, will join private equity group Lion Capital as a partner on 1 May. Minnick spent 23 years in management at Coca-Cola and will become the seventh partner at Lion Capital - a private-equity firm whose consumer brands include Kettle Foods and Wagamama.
Quality chairman
Moray farmer and butcher Michael Gibson is to take over the role of chairman of Quality Meat Scotland's standard setting body for cattle and sheep assurance. And Bill Joyce is to be the new marketing manager at Meat Promotion Wales (Hybu Cig Cymru). He joins from Meat and Wool New Zealand, which markets lamb in the UK.
Direction for Zig-Zag
Chris Lowrie is cigarette paper and rolling accessory supplier Zig-Zag's new sales director. Lowrie leaves lighter supplier Ronson, where he spent the past two years as national sales manager. He replaces Andrew Armstrong, who has been promoted to managing director.
Finard leaves Kraft
Jeri Finard, executive vice president and chief marketing officer of Kraft Foods, has decided to leave the company for personal reasons. Finard has worked at Kraft in a number of senior roles since 1986. Kraft said it was conducting an internal and external search to find a replacement for her role.
