White takes on IT
PepsiCo's chairman Mike White is to take on global responsibility for procurement and information technology, but will also continue in his role as chief executive officer of PepsiCo international, which controls the company's businesses in the UK, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
Landmark elections
George Benson, commercial director of Bellevue Cash & Carry, and George Hepburn of JW Gray have been elected to the board of cash and carry buying group Landmark Wholesale following its annual meeting in Liverpool last week.
Metro's chairman
Franz Markus Haniel has been elected chairman of Metro's supervisory board. Haniel replaces Eckhard Cordes who is now chief executive of the German retailing group, which operates Makro Cash & Carry in the UK. Haniel also heads the supervisory board of the Duisburg-based family conglomerate Haniel Group, Metro's largest shareholder with a 34.24% stake.
Ricard role splits
Patrick Ricard is to stand down as chief executive officer of drinks group Pernod Ricard at the end of this financial year. He plans to retain his role as chairman of the board of directors and has recommended managing director Pierre Pringuet takes over as chief executive officer. Pringuet joined Pernod Ricard in 1987 as head of development and has been MD since 2000.
Ardo gets Schlosser
Frozen fruit and vegetables supplier Ardo UK has appointed Darren Schlosser as technical manager. Schlosser, who has 17 years of experience in the food industry, will be responsible for quality control and legislative compliance and maintenance of the company's factory systems.
