Cheesemaker Joseph Heler has teamed up with Indian foods brand Geeta’s to launch a new Red Leicester with mango chutney cheese.
The cheese - which will be co-branded - will hit Tesco deli counters from 15 October. Pitched as a premium product, it combines mellow Red Leicester and chutney to create a “perfectly balanced sweet/savoury flavour,” according to Heler.
Geeta’s was the obvious choice for a partnership, said Angela Pasco, national account controller at Joseph Heler. “Like Heler, Geeta’s are family-run and their name is synonymous with quality and authenticity.”
The new product was “revolutionary”, added Joanna Turner, deli cheese buyer for Tesco.
