Symington’s-owned instant noodles brand Naked has added a new line of vegeratian and vegan noodle pots in “category-favourite flavours”.
Called Ultimate Noodles, the range has debuted with three flavours: Chinese Style Duck, Korean Style Beef and Japanese Style Chicken.
Chinese Style Duck and Korean Style Beef are vegan, while Japanese Style Chicken is vegetarian.
Ready in just four minutes, the noodle pots were MSG-free and made with “natural Asian flavours”, it said.
They rolled into Sainsbury’s on 9 May (rsp: £1.50/90g).
The range was set to “increase the brand’s appeal with mainstream instant hot snack eaters as category-favourite flavours” were “given a Naked, authentic twist”, it said.
NPD had “always been a core focus for us at Symington’s” and Ultimate was “the latest exciting noodle experience”, said Naked senior brand manager Lauren Charnock.
The new product ticked “all of the boxes from convenience to taste” and delivered “the same authentic Asian flavours our customers love and expect from the Naked brand”, she added.
It’s the latest in a string of recent vegetarian instant meal launches.
Kabuto Noodles, for instance, recently rebranded and reformulated its core range of noodle pots to make them vegetarian and non-HFSS.
Premier Foods last year unveiled a trio of meat-free pots for Batchelors in a bid to boost the brand’s appeal with vegans and flexitarians.
