Frozen food home delivery retailer Eismann UK has gone into administration.
The retailer, which delivered ready meals direct to people's homes, went under last week blaming the "drastic impact" of the multiples' online delivery schemes.
About 80 drivers from 11 depots have been made redundant, as well as 16 staff from the Bedford HQ. Administrator RSM Tenon is searching for a buyer.
One supplier said: "Fortunately we got paid up front because we had a sniff they were going under. They were looking for new investment but apparently talks fell through."
Eismann UK was ranked 41 in The Grocer's Top 50 list of independent retailers last year, with sales of £18m. Another Top 50 retailer, Stokes, went into administration in October.
