An energy drink endorsed by kung fu film star Jackie Chan is heading to the UK.
Birkenhead-based Interesting Imports, which specialises in premium food and cosmetics, is marketing a trio of green tea extract beverages in the UK and Ireland and has the licence to use images of the martial arts maestro.
The range - Instagreen, XGT Energy and Xtragreen - is set for full launch in the summer. Activity is set to include goodie bags at film performances and price promotions.
David Wright, imports director, is confident the product will recreate its US success here by building a diverse portfolio of stockists. “We’re targeting about 100 independent pharmacies and health food stores,” he said. “We’re also talking to Boots and Superdrug.
The range was developed by Teatech, a Nevada corporation owned by Xel Herbaceuticals, which specialises in the development and marketing of green teas based upon its patented extraction method.
