Carsten Jakobsen, chairman of Danish pork specialist Tulip and vice CEO of its parent company Danish Crown Group, is stepping down after 14 years with the group.
Jakobsen joined Danish Crown Group's management following its merger with Vestjyske Slagterier, where he was CEO. He is set to leave the company on 2 December when its 2009/10 results are published and will be replaced as chairman of Tulip by Danish Crown Group management team member Flemming Enevoldsen.
Danish Crown chairman Niels Mikkelsen said Jakobsen had been the architect of Tulip's rise to become one of the UK's leading meat suppliers, with the company now operating 17 sites nationwide. "Carsten has been responsible for the growth we have witnessed in the UK in recent years," said Mikkelsen.
