Made in Chelsea star-turned-entrepreneur Jamie Laing is to host The Grocer’s New Product & Packaging Awards 2024.
Taking place on 8 November at Wembley Stadium in London, the lunchtime event will celebrate the latest and greatest innovations that have hit the shelves over the past 18 months.
It will this year be presented by Laing, a BBC Radio 1 broadcaster, prolific podcast host, social media influencer and the co-founder of premium sweets brand Candy Kittens.
Laing rose to fame in 2011 as an early cast member of the reality TV show Made in Chelsea. Ever a canny businessman, he used the show as a platform to launch his confectionery brand Candy Kittens, which today is listed across the traditional big four supermarkets.
Laing’s passion for sweets and everything fun is apparent through his content online, where he posts to his 1.2 million followers on Instagram and over 900k on TikTok.
On top of running a successful fmcg business and entertaining his followers, Laing is an experienced broadcaster. He is co-host of BBC Radio 1 drivetime show Going Home, plus BBC comedy podcast series 6 Degrees.
Laing’s production company JamPot Productions is home to the award-nominated podcast NewlyWeds, which he co-hosts alongside his wife Sophie Habboo. The show has generated over 22 million downloads to date, plus a sell-out UK tour.
Laing also hosts the chart-topping podcast Great Company, for which he has interviewed the likes of Shania Twain, Paloma Faith and Jo Brand.
