Holiday park c-store retailer J&J Wilson has extended its contract with Nisa for a further two years.
J&J Wilson, which has 72 stores, switched from Costcutter to Nisa in June 2012. It has now extended its contract with the symbol group until 2019.
“We had no hesitation moving over to Nisa in June 2012 and the decision to do so has certainly been proven correct with the fantastic growth we’ve achieved in the last financial year,” said J&J Wilson MD Derrick Lloyd.
“Despite boasts from elsewhere the move provided us with greater purchasing power and stronger promotions so we were absolutely committed to signing an extension to our agreement,” Lloyd said.
Nigel Gray, business unit director for symbols at Nisa, added: “We were delighted to welcome J & J Wilson back in 2012 and are equally pleased that our member owned business model is proving successful for them.
“Their decision to extend the current agreement is testament to the fantastic benefits available to Nisa members that are unique to our business and designed to help retailers grow and make more money.”
Accounts filed at Companies House in June revealed J&J Wilson reported a 13.4% increase in pre-tax profits and a 5% increase in sales for the year to 31 January 2014. It credited its move to Nisa for the increase.
J&J Wilson is number 47 on The Grocer’s ranking of the UK’s Top 50 independent grocery retailers.
