AB InBev’s northern Europe boss Jason Warner is set to step into a more expansive role covering the whole of Europe next year, with the brewing giant unveiling a slew of organisational changes.
Jason Warner, who took up the role of president for North Europe at the Budweiser and Stella owner in 2016, will become zone president for Europe as of 1 January 2019, AB InBev announced with its Q2 financial results this week.
Its current zone president for Europe, Stuart MacFarlane, was leaving the brewer “to pursue other interests”, said AB InBev. A new UK president will be announced over the coming weeks.
Warner said he was “delighted to join the senior leadership team and lead the talented team we have in zone Europe. Even in a mature market we are making gains in a number of areas and have an amazingly diverse portfolio of brands to build on.”
He added: “After three years of our business here posting double-digit growth, I know that the UK is in a great position to capitalise on the strong momentum we have created through exciting brand activations, new product launches and key strategic partnerships.”
It comes as the brewer unveiled a raft of organisational and leadership changes across its global business with its results this week, reducing the number of worldwide ‘management zones’ from nine to six and merging its independent innovation wing, ZX Ventures, with its marketing department.
AB InBev stressed ZX would “maintain its current independence in order to remain ahead of the curve, stay agile and invest in new products and experiences to address emerging consumer needs”.
Jason Warner ranked second in The Grocer’s recent countdown of the most powerful people in British booze.
