Beef snack company The Jerky Group, supplier of the Wild West Beef Jerky and Bundu Original Beef Biltong brands, has launched an own-label beef jerky range for M&S.
Available in Classic and Peppered, the new range is made in the UK from Farm-Assured British beef and produced at Hampshire-based meat processor Laverstoke Park, owned by former Formula 1 champion Jody Scheckter.
Jerky Group owner James Newitt said the M&S range would help raise consumer awareness of the beef snack category. “There is a continued increase in consumer demand for healthier snacking alternatives, and beef jerky can replace a sandwich, crisps, nuts or chocolate,” he added.
The Jerky Group’s branded jerky and biltong, normally sold from clip strips in supermarkets, have recently gone on shelf in Sainsbury’s snacks fixture in 85g sharing bags in shelf-ready packaging.
