Jersey Dairy has set its sights on the Chinese market with its first shipment of UHT milk scheduled to set sail for the country next week.
The dairy has signed five-year contracts with two distributors one in Hong Kong and one in Shanghai. An initial shipment of 23,000 litres of UHT milk was due to leave Jersey for the UK this week and to be shipped to Hong Kong next week.
Hong Kong will be used as a test market before sales commence to mainland China.
To support its launch into the market, Jersey Dairy commissioned short video clips about Jersey, which its Hong Kong distributor, 759 Store, will place on a Facebook page.
