Head of operations Sedat Kaan Hendekli said the new smaller vehicles were “more urban-friendly”
JJ Foodservice has invested in a dozen smaller vehicles to support its DTC business in London.
The wholesaler said the 12 Mercedes-Benz 314 vans would help to better service its growing division, which has seen sales of fresh chicken up 10% on the same month in 2019.
Currently JJ is selling one million kg of poultry per month, despite its core restaurant customers being closed.
“Our new smaller vehicles are more urban-friendly and help our drivers to navigate narrow residential streets and cul-de-sacs,” said JJ Foodservice head of operations Sedat Kaan Hendekli. “We will continue developing our range and service to support consumers.”
