The job: The £14.73m regional distribution centre at South Elmsall, near Wakefield, is a spring board for Londis' long-awaited growth into Scotland.
It started deliveries this month to Petrol Express stores and Rank holiday sites.
Routing its Scottish ship-ments through a Cumbernauld transhipment site, Londis anticipates employing 300 staff to deliver to 1,000 stores north of the Midlands when fully operational.
The project is expected to generate 45% of the symbol chain's growth this year.
The background: Farish joined Londis in 1999 as logistics planning manager, based at the group's Andover RDC. Before joining Londis, Farish worked for the John Lewis Partnership.
