Subway has appointed John C Scott as its new global sustainability and corporate social responsibility VP.
Former PepsiCo global procurement director Scott will oversee Subway’s integrated sustainability and corporate social responsibility programme, working with all departments and partners across the brand.
He joins Subway from his previous role as chief supply chain officer at premium food product distributor The Chefs’ Warehouse.
“I am pleased to be joining Subway and a team that has made great strides to build the company’s sustainable and responsible practices,” said Scott.
“Subway is in a strong position to build upon the investments already made and I look forward to helping the company continue to have a positive impact on our customers, franchisees, supply chain and environment.”
Scott brings more than 20 years of experience working in sustainability and consumer-focused supply chains. At PepsiCo, he designed and led its responsible and sustainable sourcing programme.
“Social responsibility and sustainability are embedded in who we are as a brand,” added Subway restaurants chief marketing officer Joe Tripodi.
“John shares our deep commitment to have a positive impact on the communities our franchisees and restaurants serve worldwide. He has the extensive experience and strategic thinking to ensure Subway continues to operate as a socially and environmentally responsible company.
“John will help our brand expand our sustainability commitments and lead us as we explore new ways to enhance our business practices responsibly.”
