Britvic has announced the appointment of John Campbell as its new UK commercial operations director – succeeding Nigel Paine, who has taken on the role of senior vice president for Britvic North America.
Campbell joined the soft drinks company and its GB executive team in October 2013 as finance director. He has more than 25 years of experience in fmcg finance and commercial strategy, including senior roles at Diageo and Heinz, as well as a strong understanding of IT and programme management.
He began his career with accountancy giant KPMG in 1987 before joining United Distillers four years later. In 1997, the business was acquired by Diageo, where Campbell rose to the position of finance director for South Africa before moving to Heinz in 2011, where he served two years as chief financial officer for UK & Ireland.
In his new Britvic role, Campbell will report to GB managing director Paul Graham, and will be responsible for growing the soft drinks category through compelling activation platforms and execution at point of purchase.
Campbell had an “exceptional understanding of our commercial business”, said Graham, and had been central “in growing our business year on year on our journey to delivering transformational growth into the soft drinks category”.
