The John Lewis Partnership is to start selling own-brand masks to raise money for NHS Charities Together.
The packs of three face masks, available in black, grey and blue, are washable and reusable. They come in an adult and children’s size and are priced at £10 per pack.
The face coverings are being made in the retailer’s factory, which has also created thousands of medical gowns for the NHS and thousands of face coverings for JLP partners to wear at work.
It started selling the masks online and in Waitrose and John Lewis stores last week (7 August), and will also stock newly designed bags for life (rsp: £5) in its Waitrose stores and online from next month.
The profits made from sales of the products will add to the £2.7m the partnership has donated to charities and local communities, either as a financial or product donation, since the coronavirus pandemic began.
These new items come alongside other products the partnership is selling to raise funds for NHS Charities Together, including trainers (rsp: £79) and a mug (rsp: £8).
“Through our relationships with local hospitals and NHS staff, we know the amazing efforts our heroes continue to make, and the need for further support to enable them to continue their vital work which so many people are dependent on,” said Caroline Silke, social impact manager at Waitrose. “The partnership is committed to doing all it can to help and is delighted to support NHS Charities Together with these products.”
