John Lewis Partnership, the parent company of Waitrose, is planning to invest £350m in opening 10 new department stores.
The retailer already operates 27 stores and last week announced plans to roll out a chain of exclusive in-store food halls.
“We are committed to town and city centre regeneration, both before and after we open and our customers will be looking to us to be leaders in matters such as regeneration and sustainability,” Charlie Mayfield, managing director of John Lewis, told a property conference.
