Jonhson & Johnson has added its products to the sustainability platform

Johnson & Johnson has joined brands such as Mars and Co-op in a new online platform claiming to offer groundbreaking co-operation on sustainability.

The Manufacture 2030 platform, launched by 2degrees, will try to find ways to slash costs in company supply chains and minimise their environmental impact.

The platform includes online hubs allowing members and their suppliers to share access on information about energy, waste and water usage.

Johnson & Johnson said it had joined the group as part of its aim to meet its 2020 Citizenship & Sustainability Goals. It wants to use Manufacture 2030 Waste Hub to focus initial activity on increasing reuse and recycling of waste within its consumer goods business.

“With our 2020 Citizenship & Sustainability Goals, Johnson & Johnson is committed to going further than ever to integrate sustainability into our day-to-day work, thus reducing our impact on the Earth,” said Kevin Whitehead, senior director strategy & deployment global consumer manufacturing, Johnson & Johnson.

“Through collaboration and best practice sharing in platforms such as Manufacture 2030, we believe we can drive positive and innovative change more effectively across our operations and supply chain.”
