The Jolly Hog has launched two new, limited edition pigs in blanket flavours in time for Christmas.
Available in Tesco and Ocado for £4 (210g), the Bristol-based pork brand’s Tipsy Pigs in Blankets are said to be ideal as party food and are made with British, outdoor-bred, RSPCA Assured pork and flavoured with Bramley Apple and cider. Each cocktail sausage is then wrapped in Jolly Hog black treacle bacon.
The brand’s Posh Pigs in Blankets, meanwhile, use The Jolly Hog’s Little Porker chipolata sausages, which are then wrapped in black treacle streaky bacon. Available in Ocado at £4.25 (247g), the Posh Pigs in Blankets are best enjoyed as a Sunday roast or Christmas dinner side.
The NPD were “the perfect products to share with your family and friends at festive tables this year”, said Jolly Hog co-founder Olly Kohn.
“As a team, we go through a rigorous NPD process to make sure we believe in the product. We’ve tasted nearly every single Pig in Blanket out there to make sure ours are leading the way in taste and flavour.”
As well as launching new Pigs in Blankets flavours, The Jolly Hog has launched its first cookbook with Penguin Books.
Available on The Jolly Hog website and in major retailers, the cookbook boasts 50 pigs in blankets recipes from a festive fondue to summery pigs in blankets skewers. The book is priced at £12.99 with The Jolly Hog offering a pack of free Pigs in Blankets if the book is purchased via its website.
