Cheesemaker Joseph Heler has launched a new snack bar format of its Eatlean Protein Cheese to target healthy snackers.
Available in packs of seven, the 30g bars of cheese will roll out across selected Morrisons stores nationwide from next week (rsp: £3).
Eatlean Protein Cheese, which launched in spring 2016 in a 350g pack, contains 45% more protein than regular full-fat cheddar and 90% less fat, according to the brand.
“Snack bars were the logical next steps for us - people are telling us they enjoy eating protein cheese as an everyday snack, but want a quick eat option that’s ready to go in the fridge,” said David Wells, Eatlean brand manager.
“Likewise, we hear from consumers who are frustrated that there are currently no truly healthy options in the cheese snacking section, with all still being relatively high in fat, making them an unviable purchase.
“We believe the launch will continue to bring new consumers to the cheese section - and we’ve got further exciting developments in the Eatlean range ready to go this year.”
It follows the launch of Cathedral City snack bars in June last year, which Dairy Crest expanded into multipacks last month.
The new Cathedral City multipacks are available in Mature and Lighter Mature variants, from Waitrose, Ocado and Tesco (rsp: £2/4x30g).
