The chairwoman of Crabbie’s parent company will today abseil down Europe’s tallest building.

Judy Halewood, chair of Halewood International, admitted that she found heights “somewhat scary” but hopes to raise more than £100,000 for the Outward Bound Trust by making her abseiling debut from the 310-meter tall Shard building in London.

Prince Andrew is among the other charity fundraisers.

“The Outward Bound Trust is an incredible organisation which does fantastic work with disadvantaged young people,” said Halewood.

“With so many charities out there it is easy to get lost especially in the current financial climate and we hope this fundraising event will put the charity front and centre before a much broader audience.”

Judy Halewood is the widow of Halewood International co-founder John Halewood and took up the chairmanship of the business following his death last year. The company makes wine and spirit brands including Lambrini, Red Square vodka and Crabbie’s.
