Just Eat has partnered with Boots to offer delivery of on-demand beauty and healthcare products from an initial 50 stores across the UK.

The launch today sees the service rolled out across major cities including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow, and Edinburgh, with a range of around 1,000 Boots own-label and branded products available on the aggregator app.

The available range includes OTC medicines for minor ailments such as coughs and colds, hay fever and mild pain; beauty products including No7, The Inkey List and CeraVe; toiletries and skincare essentials like tampons, deodorant and body lotion; nappies, milk formula and children’s medicines like Calpol; fragrance and gifting items; as well as food and drink options with an assortment of sandwiches, snacks and drinks.

There are plans to follow up the first 50 Boots stores with 100 more by spring next year.

“We’re delighted to partner with Just Eat to bring our range of health and beauty products to customers in a fast, flexible, and convenient way, wherever they are,” said Paula Bobbett, chief digital officer at Boots. “It will be super-handy for times when you need something urgently but can’t leave the house, like if you’re feeling unwell or are looking after your kids. Our online business continues to grow and partnerships with platforms like Just Eat enable our customers a way to access our products quickly and easily.”

Just Eat said the new partnership “highlights the platform’s commitment to bringing customers a wide range of everyday essentials, alongside food deliveries”.

“The launch of our new partnership with Boots marks an exciting milestone for Just Eat as we continue to expand our offering beyond food delivery to everyday essentials,” said Claire Pointon, MD at Just Eat UK & Ireland. “By partnering with the UK’s leading health and beauty retailer, we’re continuing our mission to empower convenience for our customers, helping them get whatever they want, whenever and wherever they need it.”

In August, Just Eat announced it was continuing its expansion into non-food with an exclusive partnership with greetings card and gift retailer Card Factory.

In March, Just Eat began a play in health & beauty through a partnership with independent UK chain Pyramid Pharmacy. It sees a broad range of items, including perfume, make-up, first aid essentials and flu remedies, listed on the app. In May, it partnered with prescription glasses retailer Pop Specs, enabling customers to order prescription, ready-to-wear eyewear in under 30 minutes.

Speaking to The Grocer in March, Pointon said the company’s move into non-food was just beginning. “We’re at the foothills of these things and they will expand,” she said.

“By launching these new retail partnerships, our aim is to show up for our customers in more of the moments when they need us,” she added.

The Just Eat partnership isn’t Boots’ first foray into on-demand delivery, having joined forces with Deliveroo in 2021 and Uber Eats in 2022.
