Vaping giant Juul is now stocked in 7,000 retail outlets after signing a deal to supply 1,300 McColl’s convenience stores.
The deal will see McColl’s stores stock Juul from 3 June on the main vaping fixture next to the tobacco gantry, as well as Juul-branded display units.
The brand entered the UK market in November 2018 with a listing in all 1,400 Sainsbury’s stores including supermarkets, convenience stores and petrol stations.
Boots followed closely behind and last month the US vaping company entered the wholesale market with agreements to supply Bestway and Spar.
“We are delighted to have reached an agreement to list Juul products within McColl’s Retail Group stores nationally. The McColl’s agreement is yet another example of how convenience retailers are embracing our mission to improve the lives of the UK’s 7.4 million smokers” said Juul Labs UK sales director John Patterson.
“While we consciously made the decision to be selective in our retail partner agreements, our aim is to be available in as many outlets that sell cigarettes as possible - as long as they adhere to our Challenge 25 policy, in order to help adult smokers make the switch to Juul from cigarettes. We look forward to working with McColl’s in the future to help their customers make the switch.”
