JW Filshill expects to grow its KeyStore estate by 10% in 2023, aided by a “smooth integration” to its new depot near Glasgow Airport.
The target would put the symbol group at 242 stores.
Chief marketing officer Craig Brown said the new 123,034 sq ft depot at Westway Park would allow the wholesaler to increase its operational capacity and open more stores in its primary service area between Wick and Doncaster.
It is currently operating from its disitrbution centre at Hillington Park, with plans to complete the switchover in Q1 this year.
Brown added that the relocation would also help alleviate some of the inflationary pressures hitting the sector.
“Our move into our new distribution centre in Q1 is designed to improve our efficiency and therefore negate some of the historic price rises hitting the sector,” he said. “With improvement in productivity we aim to mitigate some of the cost pressures our retailers and consumers are being hit with at the moment.”
