Wessanen UK has launched Kallo Chocolate Rice Cake Minis in snack packs, extending the brand’s on-the-go offering.

Available in more than 200 Waitrose stores, the new format features four individually packaged 21g servings and is available in two variants: Belgian milk and dark chocolate (rsp: £1.99/84g).

At 103 calories per serving, the brand aims to offer an ‘indulgent treat’ while capitalising on the growing corn cake and rice cake market, which has grown 4.2% [IRI 52 w/e 18 July 2016].

“Modern life is hectic, and for many people three square meals a day are no longer possible to pull off,” said Caroline Mitchell, Kallo senior brand manager at Wessanen. “More and more consumers are now leaning towards pre-prepared snacks that can be eaten while at work or when travelling. Our new, convenient chocolate rice cake minis have been developed to meet this demand.”
