The Cheese Company has recruited Neil Kennedy, the managing director of St Ivel Spreads, to lead the business following its launch in April.
Kennedy’s previous posts have included sales and marketing director for St Ivel Provisions and St Ivel Foods Europe and development director for Unigate.
The Cheese Company was formed through the creation of Cheese Company Holdings, a joint venture between the dairy co-op Milk Link and supplier Glanbia. It is the second largest integrated UK cheese producer.
Kennedy said: “There is a great opportunity for the company to differentiate itself from the competition through enhanced innovation, marketing and the ability to identify and meet customer demands.
“The company’s new ownership structure with its direct link to the primary producer will allow us to respond to the increasing desire of consumers for products that are traceable, sustainable and of the highest quality.”
