Jed Kenrick, managing director of Uniq Prepared Foods, the UK division of European chilled convenience foods group Uniq, has left the company.
The announcement came as the T&G staged protests outside the company’s Buckinghamshire headquarters about the closure of Uniq’s Finnarts Bay plant in south west Scotland. The union said 90 jobs would go as a result of the loss of a major contract with the world’s second largest food
retailer, Carrefour. A spokesman for Uniq was unable to say why Kenrick was leaving, but added that it had been a mutual decision. In a statement, the group said that the board thanked him for his contribution to the business.
Kenrick joined Uniq in 2001 and was appointed MD in January last year after holding the positions of UK purchasing director and group organisation and change director.
Prior to Uniq he was operations director for Dyson Appliances and also worked for Walkers Snack Foods, PepsiCo International and Mars.
Kenrick is replaced with immediate effect by Rick Turnbull, who joins Uniq from RHM’s Partnership division RF Brooks, where he was managing director.
