An expansion programme is underway through the formation of Flamingo Holdings, a newly-formed international group which began trading this month. It combines the resources of Homegrown, a Kenya producer of vegetables and flowers, with Flamingo UK, its Hemel Hempsted importing and distribution company and Flower Plus of Spalding. Flower Plus will become the centre of the group's flower business which is benefiting from a £500,000 renovation programme of its cold stores and handling equipment. Premium and prepared vegetable lines will be retained at the Flamingo depot. Total sales top £60m. Produce accounts for £35m. {{FRESH PRODUCE }}
