Kerry-owned plant-based brand Naked Glory has added a duo of meat-free products for Veganuary.
The No-Beef Strips (rsp:£2.75/165g) and Chick’n Burgers (rsp: £2.75/two-pack) are both soy protein-based and went on sale in Sainsbury’s and Morrisons chilled aisles this week.
The strips come ready-to-eat and promise to be succulent and “authentic tasting”, according to Kerry. They are said to be ideal for a variety of meal occasions, including as sandwich fillings or as components of stir-fries and curries.
Naked Glory’s Chick’n Burgers are said to offer a juicy and tender texture profile and are aimed at quick cooking occasions.
Seven plant-based meat alternatives launching for Veganuary 2021
“The launch of No-Beef Strips is a new venture within beefy plant-based options, so we are excited to give consumers more options at mealtimes,” said Naked Glory marketing manager, Alison Lees.
“On top of this, our quarter pounders have proven hugely popular since launch so we’re confident our Chick’n Burgers will also be much-loved by consumers, giving them new options when it comes to evenings in with a burger.”
Both launches are set to be accompanied by a marketing campaign, which will take in influencer and social media activations.
It comes a few weeks after fellow Kerry brand Fridge Raiders made its first move into plant-based ahead of Veganuary.
Coming in three variants – Simply Seasoned, Mexican Heatwave and Indian Masala (all rsp: £1) – the Veggie Bites range has been made from seasoned vegetables and comes in either 50g food-to-go or 70g back-of-store formats.
Simply Seasoned and Mexican Heatwave flavours are on sale across the mults, while all three will appear in Tesco from next Monday (11 January).
The launch is set to be supported from 25 January with the launch of a TV and video-on-demand advertising campaign, alongside shopper activity.
