Kerry Foods is expanding its Cheestrings portfolio with the launch of new three-in-one snack targeted at hungry children after school.
Cheestrings Scoffies will go on sale nationally in Sainsbury’s stores on 11 September. They will come in three variants containing three separate resealable containers with cheese chunks and a choice of mini pretzels and a mix of apricot, cherry cubes and yoghurt raisins; crackers, cherry strings and chocolate raisins; and crackers, a fruity mix and white chocolate shortcake pieces (rsp: £1.35/60g).
The new line-up - which is due to roll out into Tesco, Waitrose and Morrisons from next month - aimed to offer an after-school solution for “ravenous” children who were often buying three separate snacks to fuel them until dinner time, said Kerry Foods brand manager Rebecca Jakob.
“There is a huge opportunity and demand from consumers for an exciting range that not only gives kids a fun and delicious after-school snack, but also one that makes shopping easier by offering a convenient three-in-one option,” Jakob added.
“We believe Scoffies will resonate strongly with UK shoppers as our research shows mums are finding their kids are hungry after school. It ticks all the boxes by providing a balanced and nutritious snack whilst bringing a fun element for kids to enjoy by mixing up the different components.”
The launch will be supported by a £1.5m TV campaign, which will kick off in January 2017.
