Kerrygold is hoping for another boost to its sales and market share when its Butterman advert returns to TV next week.
The ad, which promotes Kerrygold’s softer block butter and features a farmer going to great lengths to ensure his cows eat the best grass, first aired last September.
That month, Kerrygold sales shot up 134% [Symphony IRI 4 w/e 29 September 2012] and in the 12 weeks to 29 September, its share of the total block butter market rose 8% compared with 6.1% in the 12 weeks to 1 July.
The butter was relisted by Tesco in April 2012, but a Kerrygold spokeswoman claimed the growth was primarily down to its TV and promotional strategy.
