Kerrygold has unveiled a lineup of sweet, spreadable butters.
In a UK category first, the Kerrygold Sweet Spreadable Butter range (rsp: £2.95/150g) has been created to help consumers “elevate their breakfasts with new flavours”.
The range from the Ornua-owned brand includes three flavours designed to be spread on pancakes, croissants, waffles, bagels or toast, and can be used in cooking and baking.
The first is a Maple Syrup variant made from Kerrygold butter blended with maple syrup and rapeseed oil. The second is similar but with added cinnamon to create a Maple Syrup & Cinnamon SKU.
The final option, Sweet Spreadable with Salted Caramel, blends salted caramel with Kerrygold butter and rapeseed oil.
“We are incredibly excited to launch the first sweet, spreadable butter range in the UK market, which is not only a category first in the market but also a first for the Kerrygold brand globally,” said Nicola Blackmore-Squires, Ornua Foods UK marketing director. “Kerrygold Sweet Spreadables provide consumers with an exciting, tasty and convenient way of bringing breakfast to life, whether that be by using them to create café culture experiences at home or transforming their old favourites.”
The launch aims to meet the growth in consumption of breakfast goods by offering consumers new flavours and textures and bringing “a little bit of café culture into the home”.
The range will be launching in Tesco stores across the UK from March with more listings expected later in the year.
It will be supported by print and online media advertising, digital and social media activity, shopper activation and in-store point of sale.
“Our mission is to transform the butter category from being functionally driven to one that inspires and elevates simple pleasures,” added Blackmore-Squires.
