Four varieties of Kettle Chips carrying a best before date of 29 October 2011 have been recalled.
Brand owner Kettle Foods warned consumers through adverts in today’s national press and notices in stores that the affected products could contain pieces of plastic that appear similar to the crisps.
The lines involved are 150g bags of Kettle Chips Wave Cut Lightly Salted, Wave Cut Salt & Pepper and Wave Cut Salt & Vinegar, which are all sold only through Asda; plus 150g bags of Kettle Chips Lightly Salted, which are exclusive to Tesco.
“As a precautionary measure we are asking customers not to eat the product and to contact us for a full refund,” the company said.
