Kettle Foods has unveiled a lower-fat, lower-calorie baked crisps range.
Kettle Baked Chips are rolling out now in two flavours - sweet chilli and cream cheese & chive (rsp: 79p/25g). Targeted at health-conscious women, each bag contains less than 100 calories and 70% less fat per 25g serving than standard ready salted crisps.
They had been developed to create a “truly authentic” alternative, said marketing director Andrew Slamin. “We are offering no compromise on taste in a sector seen as full of compromise,” he said, adding that Kettle research found 58% of Brits wanted healthy snacks.
Kettle sales have risen 3.9% to £97.6m [Nielsen 52 w/e 12 October 2013].
