M&S has promoted Kevin Bennett, head of logistics in its Clothing & Home division, to M&S Food logistics director and CEO of Gist.
Gist has been central to the modernisation of M&S Food’s supply chain since the retailer’s acquistion of the logistics business in 2022, including the introduction of a new forecasting and ordering system, the rollout of which is nearing completion.
Bennett has spent the past two-and-a-half years leading supply chain transformation in Clothing & Home, before which he was logistics director at Kingfisher Group and B&Q. He previously spent has 25 years at Wincanton, where he gained significant experience in third-party logistics, according to M&S.
Current Gist CEO Nick Hay has decided to leave M&S to explore other opportunities.
“Under Nick’s leadership much progress has been made, with a clear plan for the year ahead which will help enable the continued growth of M&S Food,” said M&S Food MD Alex Freudmann.
