Kingsland Drinks is relaunching the ‘Sparkling Gold’ edition of Blue Nun with an eye to luring younger shoppers to the German brand.
The 11% abv wine, which has 24 carat gold leaf pieces floating inside, has been renamed Sparkling Gold 24k (previously 22k) and given a new look designed to “emphasise the gold elements, positioning the product to compete with the mid-range sparkling wine market”, said Kingsland.
The relaunch would be targeted primarily at wholesale and the on-trade initially, said Kingsland.
The drink “responds well to the younger consumer’s desire for a lighter wine,” it added.
