A high-protein ready meal brand from the team behind Kirsty’s is set to make its supermarket debut.
Called Prep’d Protein, it will launch with two chilled meals (rsp: £4.50/430g): Firecracker Chicken with Spring Onion Rice and Chipotle Beef Chilli with Coriander Rice.
The former provides 36g of protein and the latter delivers 33g of protein. Both weigh in at under 500 calories.
They will hit Asda shelves on 23 October, with four further SKUs to join the range over the coming months.
Delivering “convenience and nutrition”, the meals are targeted at health-conscious 18 to 44-year-olds.
Each features a barcode on pack that shoppers can scan with their phones for “instant macro tracking”.
Prep’d Protein is the brainchild of Kirsty Henshaw, the founder of free-from ready meals brand Kirsty’s.
Henshaw said she developed the brand with the ambition to “lead the way” in the growing UK protein market.
“In launching Prep’d, we’re using our expertise and ramping up the taste, cutting the cost, and packing in the protein to a new range of meals to create a really exciting solution for consumers,” Henshaw said.
“We’re here to support our customers in their protein journey with effortless eating.”
It comes after Henshaw launched Flourish by Kirsty’s, a range of veg-packed ready meals for children aged one to five with food intolerances and allergies, over summer.
Pasta Bolognese, Chicken & Sweetcorn Pie and Cottage Pie (rsp: £2.50/200g) are listed by Morrisons and Ocado.
