Kit Kat Dark has just got darker, with a relaunch that features a 30% higher cocoa content and a sleeker look.
Unlike the old bar, Kit Kat Four Finger 70% Dark, available at the end of this month, also flags up its 70% cocoa content on the pack. The cocoa content of the old bar was 54%. Rsp has been increased from 50p to 56p to reflect the higher cocoa content.
The improved bar would help the £102m brand tap into the popularity of dark chocolate, which has been boosted by "more mainstream brands" entering the category, said a Nestlé UK spokesman.
The relaunch coincides with the latest initiative supporting Nestlé's global Cocoa Plan a £65m investment by the confectionery giant to help struggling cocoa farming communities on the Ivory Coast. Kit Kat is committing £165,000 to school education packs.
A £2.4m Kit Kat Dark launch campaign kicks off on 14 February.
