Nestlé is set to boost production of Kit Kats following yesterday¹s opening of a £5m new manufacturing line in York.
The Haxby Road factory has been fitted with eight new and upgraded ovens that manufacture the wafers in Kit Kats, according to local reports. The new machinery would cut CO2 emissions and reduce gas consumption, claimed Nestlé.
Production manager Jas Scott de Martinville said investment in the state-of-the-art technology was part of a three-year, £15m investment programme on Kit Kat production."Employees in York should be really excited about this line, because it¹s giving us an opportunity to shine and deliver world-class wafer quality and freshness."
