Nestlé is working on a project to put confectionery and biscuit stalwart Kit Kat into bags.
The project, nicknamed Kit Kat Kubes, is likely to see mini versions of the popular snack roll out in several size formats, including a countline.
A spokesman said: "We will be doing a big launch on Kit Kat later this year, probably in October. We are fairly clear as to what we will be doing, but it is still in the planning stages."

Kellogg is replacing its The Simpsons-inspired cereal No ProblemOs with a new brand called Eat My Shorts, playing on cartoon character Bart's famous catchphrase.
The golden syrup flavoured multigrain flakes in the shape of Bart's shorts will be backed by a £1.3m spend including TV advertising in June and August.

Golden Wonder is unleashing part of its £25m spend in 2003 on a £450,000 text and win promotion in its Scottish and Northern Irish heartlands.
Running across its Golden Wonder crisps portfolio, the push will invite consumers to text a four-digit time code featured on packs to find out if they have won a daily prize of anything between £10 and £10,000.
The campaign runs for four weeks from the end of this month, and will be backed by radio and poster ads.

Fox's Biscuits is launching a minis version of its popular Rocky brand. Rocky Rounds mini biscuits will be supported by a "multi-million" pound marketing campaign, said the company.
Sold in two flavours ­ original and caramel ­ the rsp for multipacks of five bags will be £1.29 with each bag weighing in at 33g.
