Nestlé said its British business had achieved “good organic growth”, as it announced record nine-month sales this week.
The company’s global operations posted a sales increase of 8.9% and real internal growth of 3.4%.
Nestlé did not give figures for its UK business, but posted organic growth of 6% and real internal growth of 2.1% in European sales.
“In this tough environment the UK continues to deliver a strong performance, particularly in confectionery and beverage,” said Alastair Sykes, Chairman and CEO Nestlé UK. Its coffee business had performed strongly in the UK, particularly Nescafé and Nescafé Gold Blend, he added.
Its UK confectionery business also had “a good performance”, according to a spokeswoman. “KitKat is driving growth following the successful launch of KitKat Senses earlier this year,” she added.
