Unilever has ramped up its Knorr portfolio with the introduction of Naturally Tasty!, a range that marks the stock brand’s debut in dry recipe mixes.
Comprising six variants intended for mid-week meals – Moroccan Chicken, Spaghetti Bolognese, Lasagne, Tuna Napolitana, Beef Tagine and Chilli Con Carne (rsp: 89p) – the new line-up will be supported by a £3.4m investment, including a TV advert set to air in October.
Rolling out now, the Naturally Tasty! mixes come in a sachet format ‘designed to give an authentic food market feel’ and provide a ‘lightweight and space-efficient’ alternative to jar sauce.
“Over the past 178 years, Knorr has become famous for its culinary expertise and quality products,” said Vanni Cataldi, marketing manager for Knorr and Bovril UK & Ireland. “We are now using this experience to launch into the easy cooking market with a unique product offering.”
The Unilever launch comes after rival supplier Premier Foods unveiled a raft of new products from three of its major cooking sauces brands – Sharwood’s, Loyd Grossman and Homepride – in July, in an effort to ‘reflect the latest emerging UK eating trends’ and attract younger shoppers.
