Knorr is claiming a category-first with the launch of a range of zero-salt stock cubes.
Launching in Vegetable, Chicken and Beef flavours, the new stock cubes offered a “rich flavour of herbs and spices” with zero salt and no compromise on taste, said Knorr.
The range was made using responsibly sourced meat and sustainably sourced vegetables, it said, in line with brand owner Unilever’s Future Foods ambition to help people transition to healthier diets while also reducing the environmental impact of the global food chain.
Unilever UK&I foods marketing director Fikerte Woldegiorgis said more than ever shoppers were looking for ways to create home cooked meals that were better for them and their families.
The NPD would offer shoppers a “simple and delicious swap in their everyday cooking that will help them reduce their salt intake”, she said.
They have rolled into Tesco, and will hit Sainsbury’s and Morrisons in the next few months (rsp: £1.49/8x9g).
