Swedish cider producer Kopparberg has recalled two of its fruit-flavoured tipples from supermarket shelves due to fears the bottles may break.
The brand’s Sparkling Rosé strawberry and raspberry 750ml bottles have been removed from Asda, the only retailer that stocks them, following several reports of the glass bottle shattering.
Kopparberg, which said the affected bottles had best before dates up to and including April 6 2018, urged customers not to open the bottle or drink the contents and to “carefully dispose of the bottle immediately”.
A spokesman for the FSA said: “If you have bought any of the products do not attempt to open the bottle or drink the contents.”
No other Kopparberg products were known to be affected, it said, adding PoS notices explaining the recall would be displayed in all Asda stores selling the drinks in a bid to alert shoppers.
