KP Snacks has recalled four varieties of its McCoy’s multipacks following complaints that some contained small pieces of plastic.
The snacks producer said it had initiated a voluntary recall of McCoy’s classic six and 15 multipacks and its cheddar & onion and salt & malt vinegar six-packs, with a best before date of 15 June 2013 and coded 3066, due to “a small number” of consumers’ complaints.
The decision to recall the products was a precautionary measure, the company said. It added that a full investigation had been undertaken and it had isolated the cause to one malfunction of one production line.
No other McCoy’s products were affected, said KP Snacks, which is co-operating with The Food Standards Agency and Environmental Health Office on the matter.
