KP Snacks has relaunched its Velvet Crunch Gourmet Bites with upgraded flavours and a bolder ‘healthier snacking’ message.
The bagged range has made improvements to its trio of variants, which now comprise Thai Sweet Chilli, Cheddar Cheese & Onion, and Salt & Vinegar (having been Thai Chilli & Aromatic Sweet Basil, Mature Cheddar & Onion, and Salt & Malt Vinegar).
The new-look packaging features a bolder logo and clearer product descriptors to better communicate the brand’s ‘health benefits’ and calorie count. Promising under 100 calories per 20g bag (about 420 calories per 100g), the air-popped snack lineup promises 60% less fat than typical potato crisps (rsp: £1.50/six-pack).
It was important for KP to continue to improve its products, said branded sales manager Andy Riddle. “Our Velvet Crunch brand plays a unique role in the portfolio as a healthier snack that still strongly delivers on flavour,” he added. “We’re encouraging retailers to make the most of the ‘healthy new year’ by stocking up.”
Launched in July 2014, Velvet Crunch is currently worth £3.2m in value sales [Nielsen 52 w/e 31 December 20160].
