Tesco has carried out another shake up in its fresh food department, with category director Kris Comerford taking charge of the chilled foods operation.
Former group sourcing director Darren Clough, who had been working for Tesco in central Europe, has become head of the fresh food category, both reporting to commercial director for fresh foods and commodities, Matt Simister.
Clough has been with Tesco for more than 25 years, working in a variety of roles in its buying team and was a key man alongside Simister in building its global sourcing operation.
Comerford joined as Tesco youngest buyer in 2005 and developed a new banana merchandising solution used in 1,500 Tesco stores.
He was also previously head of counters at Tesco.
Simister returned to the fold at Tesco in December having been sked to step aside following its accounting revelations last year but was subsequently cleared of any involvement.
