Doughnut brand Krispy Kreme has unveiled its 500th in-store cabinet with Tesco, marking 12 years since the launch of its first in the retailer’s Regent Street store.
This year, Krispy Kreme has opened 48 cabinets in Tesco stores nationwide. The latest is at Tesco Extra Silverburn in Glasgow, and follows a year of expansion in the Scottish market by the brand.
It entered the UK market in 2008, and now has 700 cabinets across retailers including Morrisons and Tesco, as well as 85 standalone stores.
“From the outset, we identified that the grocery channel would be extremely important for us, and it quickly gained momentum as a way for us to increase accessibility and brand awareness,” said Suk Nicholas, UK sales director at Krispy Kreme.
“Our goal has always been to provide UK customers with the joy of Krispy Kreme - and Tesco continues to be an important partner in achieving this. We are so proud of how far we have come together in just 12 years, and look forward to many more to come.”
