Lactalis McLelland has jumped on the quark bandwagon with the launch of Sweden’s number one quark brand Lindahls in the UK.
The high protein soft cheese goes on sale nationally in Waitrose on 21 November in natural big pot (500g), raspberry (150g) and vanilla (150g) variants (rsp: £2.25 and £0.95).
The big pot variant was an ideal fat-free alternative to natural yoghurt, crème fraiche or sour cream, said the dairy giant, while the smaller 150g pots were suited to breakfast on-the-go, as a filling snack or as a dessert.
“Lindahls is a proven success in Sweden,” said Lactalis McLelland sales director Mike Chatters. “Our UK research has shown consumers love the range and find it very differentiated due to the range of flavours available, and highly relevant due to its focus on health. The launch of Lindahls as a healthy dairy lifestyle brand demonstrates Lactalis’s commitment to innovation.”
Bringing Lindahls to the UK follows the introduction of a range of quark cooking cheese from Arla last month, while Fuel10K recently unveiled an on-the-go addition to its high-protein breakfast portfolio with its Quark With Fruit - a yoghurt style SKU in a squeezable pouch.
